Director - Frisco Arts
Named the 2017 Spirit of Frisco by the Chamber of Commerce, Tammy Meinershagen is a change agent and champion for the arts in Frisco, TX, Tammy believes that exposure to and experience of arts and culture are essential to the health of each individual, as well as the community as a whole. Her work in the arts has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Good Morning Texas, Channel 8 News, Dallas Morning News, Frisco STYLE Magazine, and more. Under her leadership as Executive Director of the nonprofit Frisco Association for the Arts, the membership has grown 700%, and the collective impact of partnering businesses and artists secured the 2018 Spirit of Collaboration Award by the Junior League of Collin County. Frisco Arts is known for their innovative projects and programs, including the monthly Ladies Who Launch Luncheon, Red Carpet Concert Series, and the Frisco Arts Walk and Run, which combines arts and wellness with technology for a full day of arts appreciation at HALL Park. Through Tammy’s initiative, Frisco Arts incorporated the first mobile arts audio guide in Frisco via Otocast, which connects the listener to the original artist behind each sculpture at the Texas Sculpture Garden and HALL Collection. Tammy’s thought leadership consistently combines the arts with new sectors to increase the reach of the arts to all ages, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds. Tammy is also an accomplished pianist and violinist, and her electric violin videos in rock, metal, classical, and jazz can be found as “Frisco Violin Girl” on YouTube.
